Sunshine Coastal Pathway

With 73km of beautiful coastline, the Sunshine Coastal Pathway is split into nine segments that link up along the coast. Take in the wildlife and native plants and flowers, and stop to read the plaques to learn more about the area.

Spot the Whales

If you’re visiting between June and October, you’re in for an experience as humpback whales pass through the waters of the Sunshine Coast as they migrate north. Sometimes spotted from the beach, many experienced operators offer whale-watching adventures. 

Water Sports

From surfing to stand-up paddle boarding, jet skiing, sailing, and even kayaking, there’s a water sport for you to try on the Sunshine Coast. With surfing lessons at Coolum Beach right on our doorstep, you don’t have to travel far to learn.

Fun for the Family at the Aqua Park

Suitable for ages six and up, the Aqua Park boasts an extensive array of inflatables, including slides, trampolines, swings, wobble pads and more. Located in the Coolum industrial estate, bring the waterproof camera for this one.

Hike Mount Coolum

If you love to hike, you’ll love Mount Coolum. With stunning 360-degree views from the top, this much-loved trail should be on your list. One for experienced walkers will take around 1.5 hours to complete. 

Explore the Glass House Mountains

Perfect for hikers and lovers of nature, the Glass House Mountains should be on your bucket list. With 11 peaks to explore, take your camera, some sturdy shoes and a water bottle to enjoy a day in the Sunshine Coast Hinterlands National Parks or take a guided tour.

Experience the Noosa Everglades

One of only two Everglades in the world, the Noosa Everglades is one of Australia’s most diverse ecosystems. It can be explored through guided tours. Home to more than 40 per cent of Australia’s bird species, this is one to add to your list if you love nature.

Visit the Rainforest

Head inland to visit the Mary Caincross Scenic Reserve for rainforest tracks and enjoy a picnic there. With 55 hectares of National Estate listed subtropical rainforest, you’ll be surrounded by diverse plant and animal life in this tranquil location.

Go Skydiving

If you love adventure, why not try skydiving? See the Sunshine Coast from a whole new angle and enjoy the thrill from the air! Then, you’ll land back to earth at Stumers Creek in Coolum.

Play Arcade Games

The Arcade Box at Coolum is the only place on the Sunshine Coast where you can play classic and retro video games. With pinball machines, arcades, and more, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy.

Shop the Eumundi Markets

Head to the Sunshine Coast’s famous Eumundi Markets to see locally made treasures, open every Wednesday and Saturday. The biggest and best art and craft market in Australia, it’s the perfect place to pick up a gift for yourself to remember your trip.

Live the Festivals

If you’re visiting at the end of August, add the Horizon Festival to your list. It’s the Sunshine Coast’s leading contemporary multi-arts festival with ten days and nights of theatre, dance, music, visual art and much more. Celebrating home-grown and global artists, the Horizon Festival believes art is transformative. It’s an experience not to be missed.

Try the Craft Breweries

The Sunshine Coast is home to over 19 breweries, each with its own story. Take a tour for a behind-the-scenes look, or visit one of the region’s many brewpubs for a late lunch.

A Foodies Delight

We’re spoiled for choice on the Sunshine Coast, with locally harvested seafood and locally grown produce from macadamia nuts to pineapples to avocados. In addition, some of our best dairy farms are on the Hinterland, making award-winning cheeses and yoghurts. Take a farm-to-fork tour to get the whole experience.
